    • CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

    Work of the Executive Committee from August 2024 to July 2025

    (1)   SGSIA

    1. A Quarterly Consultative Meeting was held on 10 June 2025.
      HKSA raised a proposal to review the SGSO to bring it update with the technology development.
      Full information of the discussion can be read from June 2025 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes.

     

    (2)   SSTB

    1. HKSA is represented by two members in the Security and Disciplined Services Training Board.
    2. HKSA attended the Focus Group Meeting held by Security and Disciplined Services Training Board in late November 2024. The focus was on manpower situations in Hong Kong.

     

    (3)   SCIU / PLO

    1. PLO agree to our proposal of widening the recognized document for address proof for SPP applicants.
    2. A Pre-QCM was held online with PLO and SCIU on 9 June 2025.

     

    (4)   The Executive Committee

    1. HKSA held a lunch with toasts and lucky draws to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Association on 29 August 2024 after the AGM 2024.
    2. 9 Executive Committee Meetings were held from August 2024 to July 2025.
    3. Two membership campaigns were carried out, one in October 2024 and another one in May 2025.
    4. d. Annual Awards Invitations were put out to members this year in May 2025 on guarding services and distinctive performance.
      7 guards were awarded the Best Security Services Cash Award, and one member
      company was awarded the Distinction Award.
    5. A hybrid seminar was hosted on 10 January 2025 in collaboration with labour Department and Security Bureau. The theme was on import labour issues.
    6. A site visit for our members was organized on 16 January 2025 to ASTRI in Science Park. 45 persons joined the tour. This site visit would be arranged twice in a year.
    7. An Election of the Executive Committee for 2025-2027 was held in June through July 2025. 15 Principal Members competed and were all admitted to the new Executive Committee.

     

    (5)   Interactions with other organizations

    1. The Association was a supporting organization to the Build4Asia Expo and Conference in July this year.
    2. HKSA also supported 2 Global Sources Exhibitions and conferences in AsiaWorld.
    3. HKSA was invited to be a supporting organization to Hong Kong Productivity Council’s CS Summit.
    4. MOU Signing Between the HKSA and the Security Solutions Association of Singapore (SSAS) on 17 October 2024.

     

    (6)   Technology Seminar and Conference

    1. A Technology Seminar was held on 12 September 2024 at Cordis Hotel. 4 companies presented talks at the seminar.
    2. HKSA was invited by Build4Asia Conference organizer, Informa Markets to host the Asian Securitex Conference 2025 on 16 July 2025 during their Build4Asia Expo and Conference in AsiaWorld-Expo.

     

    (7)    Social & P.R. Functions:

    1. Members were encouraged to submit write-up in our webpage on security related issues. Exposure opportunities were created for members to submit professional writings for knowledge sharing.
    2. The HKSA webpage was revamped and the new webpage set up is trendy.
    3. Site visits to cutting- edge technology manufacturers and dealers in Hong Kong would be organized to members for more interactions.

     

    (8)   Public event

    1. Chairman officiated awards in “Best Security Services Award” hosted by the New Territories North Police Crime Prevention Region.
    2. Chairman officiated awards in “Best Security Services Award” hosted by the New Territories South Police Crime Prevention Region.
    3. Chairman officiated awards in “Best Security Services Award” hosted by the Hong Kong Island Police Crime Prevention Region.
    4. Chairman officiated awards in “SafeCity HK Ceremony 2025” hosted by the Hong Kong Police Force.

     

    (9)  HKSP DAY

    1. HKSA, collaborating with 4 other professional associations celebrated the 8th year of the event this July 2025.
      A promotion was held at Olympian City.
      Promotional activities included banners, stickers displayed at various locations, and social media.
